BEST INDOOR PLAYGROUNDS IN MARKHAM
When the thermometer dips down, it is harder to plan those park play dates and shove the kids outside when things get rowdy, especially for those with little ones.
The good news is that Markham has some great indoor options to run and climb, stay warm, and maintain your parental sanity. Check these out:
MY GYM
You love heading to your zumba class or hot yoga session so, of course, our wee ones would love to do the same and head to a state-of-the-art facility with well-trained staff and awesome programs. MY GYM, located right across from the Mount Joy GO station, offers kids (and their folks), from 6 weeks to 13 years, a great destination for being active and learning about sports in a positive and nurturing environment.
The MY GYM franchise has been around for more then 30 years and boasts more then 300 locations worldwide. Getting active is easy and fun with introductory sports, gymnastics, rides, music, and games in the non-competitive environment they provide. Your kids will learn strength, balance and coordination along with self-discipline.
Try a class for free or make your next birthday party an active affair with one of their party packages. If you register before November 30th the Lifetime Family Membership fee is waived plus you get $15 off the first 4 weeks of classes and 50% off the youngest and oldest group classes.

CITY OF MARKHAM
The city has you covered every day of the week and in every corner of Markham there is a place to take the kids (up to age 7) to socialize and let off some steam.
Cornell Community Centre’s indoor playground is open every day of the week (check the schedule for various times) and boasts some contemporary toys that encourage not only exercise but also musical recognition and imaginative play.
Head to Centennial Community Centre on Thursdays or Angus Glen Community Centre on Fridays for some indoor fun or send your spouse to Milliken Mills Community Centre on Sundays and enjoy some quiet time in the house…ALONE.
Best part? The cost is minimal: only $3.05 per adult and the first child and $0.75 for every additional child.
Check out the Fall 2014 schedule for the times to the end of December.
Pro tip: For any indoor playground remember to always bring a pair of socks for both adults and kids, water, and NUT-FREE snacks as most places have a strict ban on outside food to prevent any allergic reactions. So have fun, let loose and get your wiggles out!
